Le Torri di Bagnara is made of 2 stylish Medieval Historic Residences set in the centre of a magnificent 1500 acre estate actually including a collection of castles and woodland, complete with lakes and a natural reserve. Perched high in the Umbrian hills not far from Perugia and many of the area’s historic gems, this peaceful estate makes a tailor-made base for the best stay in central Italy.
The Main House is a stylish 11th century Abbey encircling a courtyard, beautifully renovated to create a private house; it has been restored to the highest standard of renovation and design to create a luxury villa with 7 rooms and 9 bathrooms, with total privacy and breathtaking views. It is extraordinarily equipped and beautifully interior designed with everything from high speed wireless internet, to whirlpool bathtubs, air conditioning, panoramic dining veranda, ice maker and billiard.
Four apartments set in a 11th century Tower just up the hill are available for larger groups on request. The Tower apartments are leased only in addition to the Abbey. The Tower can't be rented by itself.
The Abbey accommodates 15 people in six double bedrooms (4 may be twin also) + one triple, and 7 en-suite bathrooms + 2 guest bathrooms. Each bedroom is different from the others; they are furnished with antiques and elegant fabrics, and come with every modern comfort.
On the ground floor through the entrance is the studio with fireplace and equipped with telephone, desktop, printer, photocopier, scanner and fax. You will find two lovely bedrooms on this floor. The Periwinkle master bedroom with Queen size bed and full en-suite bathroom fitted with a large marble bathtub and rain shower. As with all bedrooms the standard equipment includes air-conditioning, heating, telephone, WIFI, Safe Box, hair dryer and mini bar fridge. This room also has a flat screen TV with satellite channels and iPad dock station. The second bedroom here is the Primrose bedroom with Queen size bed and full en-suite bathroom; again with all the standard equipment. Both bedrooms have views over the Tiber Valley and gardens.
Also on the ground floor is the exceptional fully equipped villa kitchen. The Bar here has a professional espresso coffee machine, ice maker, glass washer and guest bathroom. And the dining veranda with stunning panoramic views over the Tiber Valley and gardens seats up to 30 people.
On the first floor there is a large living room with fireplace, books and a card table. There are three bedrooms located on the first floor all with the standard equipment including air-conditioning, heating, telephone, WIFI, Safe Box, hair dryer and mini bar fridge. The Tulip bedroom with Queen size bed (or 2 Twin beds), en-suite bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and rain shower, has lovely views over the courtyard and gardens. The Geranium bedroom with Queen size bed and en-suite full bathroom enjoys views over the Tiber Valley and gardens. The third bedroom is the Peony master bedroom with Queen size bed and full en-suite bathroom with whirlpool bathtub and rain shower. This room also is equipped with a flat screen TV with satellite channels and iPad dock station. Here you can enjoy magnificent views over the Tiber Valley, the courtyard and the church.
The Sacristy first floor houses two bedrooms. The Myosotis bedroom with Queen size bed (or 2 Twin beds), en-suite full bathroom and the standard equipment has views over the courtyard and gardens. The 7Flowers triple bedroom with Queen size bed and single bed again is equipped with the standard equipment and enjoys views over the medieval courtyard and gardens.
On the second floor is the panoramic terrace with sofas and views over the courtyard, pool, gardens and tower.
The lower ground floor houses the Medieval Tavern with billiards table.
The grounds of the magnificent 1,500 acre estate & natural reserve are crisscrossed by walking and biking trails with picnic areas, 5 medieval castles, olives, woods for berry-picking, animal breeding, a sprinkling of lakes and a farm.
Also within the estate’s grounds is the Medieval large courtyard surrounded by lemon trees, infinite very private panoramic overflow salt water Pool (15 x 7,5 m), pool wooden Gazebo, fully equipped stone Barbecue, Botanic Garden, Kitchen Garden, a 5.000 sqm manicured gardens designed by the famous Tuscan landscape designer Alberto Margheriti, Patio, Terrace, Parasols, Deck chairs and Sun beds, Table tennis, Parking areas, outside Lightning with ancient streetlamps lined with forged iron, Gated property.
There are sweeping views of the Tiber valley, surrounding hills, forests, the Bagnara castle and estate.
Our Bagnara farm produces: Extra Virgin Olive; Honey - Acacia & Flower Mix; Eggs; fresh Vegetables; “Chianina” cattle meat (the one of the T-bone steak !), Chicken and Goose meat. Our Estate in Tuscany - Cortona area - produces 3 kind of doc wines: Cortona Merlot doc (red wine), Cortona Sangiovese doc (red wine), Valdichiana Biancovergine doc (white wine).
All produce can be purchased by Guests at our farm’s offices.

Midway between Florence and Rome,this peaceful estate makes a tailor-made base for the best stay in central Italy. Sometimes referred to as ‘the green heart of Italy’, Umbria is a small, hilly and fairly untouched region often hailed as Tuscany without the crowds. The landscape is similar to that of Tuscany and combines austere Medieval architecture and stone farmhouses with gently rolling hills and rivers. The surroundings are completely rural and tranquil but guests have the convenience of the village, bar, shops, restaurant and sport centre being only five minutes drive away. Florence and Rome are within two hours drive, and Siena, Arezzo, Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Spoleto and Orvieto are all closeby. THINGS TO DO The on-site English speaking manager can arrange collection from any local airport and organize guided visit to the farm, its animal breeding and its medieval castles, guided tours in the Umbrian cities of arts & museums, and truffle hunt. Tailor made cooking classes and wine tasting can be arranged in the Abbey’s kitchen, and horse riding, tennis, golf and fishing can all be enjoyed in the nearby area.
