In 1970 the Count de Mario Caracciolo, the last descendant of a prestigious Neapolitan family, decided to move to the famous Terra delle Sirene, Sorrento.
Enamored with the princely Villa Il Gioiello (The Jewel), the Count decided to buy it, furnish it, live in it and personalize it with his collections of furniture and precious objects. As he said, Having something unique is not a sin ... but just a nice luxury to be granted!
The welcoming entrance to the villa opens to a relaxed setting, a rare natural beauty along a road that winds through trees. The property is often perceived by guests as the ideal place to enjoy relaxing occasions, moments of study, research and discover the traditions of the city of Sorrento. Today the house is run by a manager who is not only knowledgeable and experiences, but also talented in hospitality with great cordiality.
